Yoga Playlists

As I start to write this blog post, I find myself nodding my head to the beat of one of my favorite songs, "No Diggity" by Blackstreet. Can you blame me? It's such a good song! Hey yo hey yo hey yooo!

This leads me in to the topic of yoga playlists. How do you feel about them? Some yogis prefer silence, while others enjoy music to their movements. There are some days where I prefer to listen only to my breath. But, the majority of the time, give me some good tunes to flow to and I am one happy camper!

I quickly became known for my funky playlists. I tend to throw in songs you wouldn't normally think would be used in a yoga class. It brings me joy and my students seem to love it (at least they haven't told me otherwise)! I teach the way I like to be taught. So when you come to my class be prepared to try something new and flow to a song you may feel the need to sing to!

Yoga is a very serious practice but it doesn't mean you have to have serious music or no music all the time. If listening to Pharrell's "Happy" song makes you feel good then flow to it. There's no right or wrong just what makes you feel good. If yoga helps make you feel good then you are on the right track. No diggity! No doubt!
