Baby Tayoga Update

Hi all! Just wanted to give you a little update - I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and feeling good. We have our big appointment set at 20 weeks where we will find out the gender (Eeeee!). I'm going to savor this 2nd trimester! I'm sure you have all heard a pregnant woman at one time or another say, "the baby is the size of a ____!" Well, I am no different. I have been following the Glow app on my phone, and every week I get so excited to see what the next size is. Andrew and I have made a little game of it - every week the baby has a different name based on the size. My mom mentioned last week that I should keep track of all the names we have given the baby thus far, so, here's our so far is listed below. Let me know which one is your favorite. Some weeks, we were more creative than others. 🧡 Baby Tayoga Names Week by Week Chocolate Chip - "Chip" - Weeks 5 to 8 Blueberry - "Berry" - Week 9 Green Olive - "Olive" - Week 10 Ku

Free Tayoga Playlist - Social Distancing/Feel Good

In light of the virus craziness, I wanted to make a social distancing playlist, with a bit of encouragement for staying mentally well. Since there are no studio classes allowed in California right now, I haven't had a chance to use this playlist, but I have listened to it multiple times. It's just a little something to make you laugh and help you feel good. Other Tayoga playlists are available through my Patreon. Feel free to check them out by clicking  here . Stay safe out there! No Tayoga at Elevate or Sukha for a bit

Hi all! I'm sure you're all as tired as I am about hearing about the Coronavirus but I just wanted to let you know that Tayoga at Elevate and Sukha are cancelled until further noticed because of this nonsense. I will most certainly be back as soon as they are reopened. I will likely make a couple online classes so you can get your Tayoga fix. Stay tuned! On a happy note, I got to hear Baby Tayoga's heartbeat this morning! He/she is doing great and I am feeling good. Stay safe out there! Namas(tay)

Tayoga Conversation with Angel Villagomez

Tayoga Conversation alert! Angel Villagomez is our featured yogi this week. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Angel a little better since he has been coming to my Lunchtime yoga on Fridays (thanks for the support!); but there was so much more I wanted to know. Everyone’s story is unique and Angel’s is no exception. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I enjoyed putting it together. Tayoga: How did you get started with yoga and at what point did you decide to complete teacher training?  Angel: I took my first yoga class at MJC. I needed to fulfill my physical education requirement, and I was into that show  Dharma & Greg  at the time, so I figured yoga was as good of a choice as any. I really enjoyed the class and continued taking more classes at In-Shape. It was many years before I migrated to studios, mostly because the cost - especially compared to free classes at a gym at which I was already a member. I had a few college friends who attended I Am Yo

First Tayoga Ever

I'm not sure why I was thinking about it the other day, but I thought I would tell you how my first ever Tayoga class went after completing my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT). I completed my training in April 2018. I can't believe it has been almost 2 years already! As my husband likes to say, "Time's fun when you're having flies." 🤭 The first class I ever taught was a 9am Vinyasa at Elevate Community Yoga on May 11, 2018. I didn't start teaching right after I had finished my YTT since the hubby and I went on a trip for my birthday first. Before I went on vacation, I remember Kaycie asking me if I would be interested in taking over her Friday morning class. It was one of my favorite classes to go to, so I was very excited but VERY intimidated at the same time. Think about it... I was taking over for the owner of the studio! Yikes! Everyone loves and adores her and she is going to throw in a newbie to replace her?! She must have known what she was doing, tho

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE - TAYOGA IS NOW ON PATREON

MORE TAYOGA NEWS! Tayoga playlists are now available on PATREON! It’s hard to top last week's news about Baby Tayoga arriving this year, but, funny enough, my Patreon page and Baby Tayoga were both starting their respective lives this past November. If you have made it to one of my classes, you know that I love to have fun playlists. As I've taught, I've become more comfortable using more adventerous music playlists; As I continue to see smiles, laughs, and other positive feedback on each new playlist, I find myself wanting to share these playlists with others. Every week, I make a new playlist for my Friday morning class at Elevate Community Yoga. If you are a teacher, you know playlists are not easy to put together. Some take me hours, while others just come together quickly. I can understand why most people wouldn’t want to make a new list every week - it’s A LOT of work - but it is something that I am passionate about. I love having good music to flow to, I love havi
