Wishing You Bright Sunshine and Happy Days

Today marks 6 years since I first went on a date with my handsome husband. We were talking this morning about some of the highlights from our dating/pre-marriage days. It's fun to look back on all the fun we have had. It's even more fun to think about the fun we are currently having and will have in the future. Tomorrow is our 3 year wedding anniversary. It is quite amazing house fast time goes, especially when you're happy. We were suppose to spend last week and this week in Hawaii but, as you know, the world had other plans. We are still having a great anniversary week though since we've been able to spend a little time at the beach. There's just something refreshing about having your toes in the sand. Enough about me. This blog post is to wish you bright sunshine and happy days ahead. I do believe there is light at the end of the tunnel and it is oh so beautiful. Stay happy, my friends. Look! I'm holding 2 suns/sons!

New Tayoga YouTube - Triangle Pose Tutorial

Something a little different for you this week (I know I say that a lot). This is a quick tutorial on how to do a proper Triangle pose. There's always so many cues I want to give for this pose during a class but I don't want to overwhelm everyone so I pick and choose a few. This video has ALL the cues! Another trick is doing this tutorial against the wall so it makes your back stay flat (like it's suppose to). Hope this helps! Namas(tay). Tayoga - Triangle Pose Tutorial

Tayoga in the Park

This past Friday was absolutely AMAZING! I got to teach a 75 minute Vinyasa class IN PERSON to 8 lovely ladies. A friend of mine suggested I should do yoga in the park, which sounded like a fantastic idea! There are so many parks to choose from in Modesto; I wanted to find one that would be somewhat quiet and would provide some shade if needed (I don't want my students cooking in the sun!). With the help of Andrew (who knows this town very well) we settled on Ashby Park. It is a small park nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The park is grass and trees - no playground, no benches - it was PERFECT! Speaking of perfect, please tell me you were able to get outside this past Friday because the weather was absolute perfection. I'm sure God planned it that way for my first live yoga class back. As you can see from the picture, it was comfortable to practice in the sun with a light breeze providing relief when things started warming up! I will definitely will continue to do Tayoga in A

New Tayoga YouTube - 45 Minute Hatha - All Standing

I tried out something a little different - I know you're shocked! It may sound strange, but in this flow you will not have to get down on your mat - all the poses are standing poses. On the day I made this, I did not feel like getting down on the ground; thus, the "all standing" idea was born. It was a nice change from the usual up and down flow while still giving a good workout. Since it is all standing postures, it has a good amount of balance involved. Before you begin the video, pick out a couple of focal points in front of you and up toward the ceiling - make sure these points don't move. This will help you to balance. Enjoy something a little different, my friends. Namas(tay). OPTIONAL PROPS: Blocks (or heavy books) Strap (or belt, leash, dish towel, etc). Tayoga - 45 Minute Hatha - All Standing

Happy Mother's Day

I just wanted to say Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Mothers come in many different forms but all are equally important. I am blessed to have an amazing mother of my own as well as many more amazing mothers around me. Let's just say I have some good role models. This was the first year I got to be part of the Mother's group. I spent it sleeping in, eating brunch, reading, going through baby clothes, and watching Crocodile Dundee . I figured it was the only Mother's Day where the little one is still low maintenance so I decided to capitalize on it. It was a great day. I hope your Mother's Day was great as well. I'll have some actual yoga things for you tomorrow. Promise :) Have a great week, my friends. Namas(tay).

New Tayoga YouTube - Short Vinyasa Flow - Balance and Planks

New video is up! I came up with this flow when I was feeling really good so it was a challenge but it felt great. For all my YouTube videos I do the flows twice. The first time is when I come up with the flows on the spot; the second time I do the flow to the audio. Let's just say I was not feeling as good as I did the first time and this flow really kicked my butt! I still felt good at the end but it seemed like it took a long time to get there...and it was less than 50 minutes! I told you this little story because if you're having a good day this flow will add to the goodness. If you're not having your best day this flow will help make it better - it will kick your butt in the process - but your day with definitely improve. Basically, do the flow, feel good, end of story. Just a Couple Thoughts

Normally an idea comes to me for this blog by the time Monday rolls around. That is not the case this week, so I'm just going to write down a few of my thoughts - since everyone seems to have a lot of time with their thoughts these days. Thought # 1 - I miss people. It isn't bad working from home (especially while pregnant), but I miss being around people the majority of the time. When I'm around people all the time it makes the quiet days seem like a special treat. Thought # 2 - Feeling baby kicks have been keeping me "oh so happy" throughout all this nonsense. Andrew enjoys feeling them, too. Definitely the best part about pregnancy. The little guy is actually kicking as I write this! Thought # 3 - I love downtown Modesto. Andrew and I went to pick up sandwiches from the Brighter Side last week (YES, THEY ARE OPEN AGAIN!) and it was the first time I saw downtown in over a month. Oh, the fun memories! I can't wait until going downtown is a regular activ
