New Tayoga YouTube - Quick Morning Flow

Good morning my lovely friends! Just wanted to let you know there is a new Tayoga YouTube video up and running. It is a quick gentle sequence that you can do first thing in the morning before you even get out of bed. Start the day off a little yoga and feel good the rest of the day. Namas(tay). What's in a Name

Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend. If you're like me, weekends tend to blend together and look the same nowadays. Luckily, this is only temporary. One thing that has kept my mind occupied (besides making new YouTube videos) has been trying to come up with a name for our baby boy. IT'S HARD! Coming up with a name your child will have for their entire life...no pressure! We have a couple ideas but nothing solid. I did a previous post about how the baby's name has changed weekly depending on the size. We have most certainly kept that going so I thought I would update you on the list. Sweet Potato - "Sweet P" - Week 18 Mango - "Magoo" - Week 19 Banana - started out "Ana" but then we found out it was a boy so it changed to "Banner" like the Hulk - Week 20 Pomegranate - "Granite" - Week 21 Thinking of names has me thinking back to before Tayoga was even thought up. Honestly, I can't remember who came up with the idea

New Tayoga YouTube - 45 Minute Hatha Flow - Heart Opening and Shoulders

Another Tayoga YouTube practice is up and ready for you! It is a Hatha flow so, good news, NO CHATARUNGAS! When I made this particular video I needed something that was going to open up my upper body. Working from home with all this craziness going on was causing me to hold tension in my chest and shoulders. I have to admit...this flow feels really really good! If you notice you're stressed and holding tension in your upper body I highly recommend this practice.  Suggested props:  Strap - if a yoga strap is not available then a dish towel or belt would work Bolster or 2 blocks - if neither of these are available then using a couple pillows or a rolled up blanket is also great. Fun fact: In case you didn't already know, the hubby and I just found out we are expecting a son! This is the reason I wore blue yoga pants and put the blue balloons in the background.  Nams(tay). IT'S A BOY!

Amid all the world's craziness, I felt so much joy this weekend. This past Thursday, I had my 20 week ultrasound and anatomy scan at my OB's office. I was a bit bummed because Andrew was not able to go in with me due to Coronavirus precautions. He still went, but had to wait outside the building. He even got all dressed up for the occasion (see picture below). Woof.. .he is so handsome! Anyway, we had planned to find out the gender at the appointment. But, since he couldn't go in, I had them put it in an envelope. The appointment went well, and both baby and mama are doing good. It's always amazing to see the ultrasound with your baby moving around in there! After the appointment, I hurried outside to Andrew so we could open the envelope. As you may have guessed from the title of this blog... IT'S A BOY! We are so very excited! I even decided to tell the nurses working the front door at the doctors office. They were excited, too. Why is finding out the gender s

New 10 Minute Tayoga Youtube Video

Hi all! Just wanted to let you know I posted a new YouTube video this week. It is quite a bit shorter than the last one so if you're not in the mood for a 75 minute practice then maybe this is the video for you. It features me guiding you through 10 Sun Salutation A's in 10 minutes. If you feel like doing 20 Sun A's then do the video again! I'll keep count for you. Just remember some movement, even if it is just 10 minutes, is much better than none at all. Stay moving, my friends! Namas(tay). Tayoga - 10 Sun Salutations in 10 Minutes

Tayoga Conversation with Mary Garvey

I am pleased to report that this conversation is the 8 th conversation since starting the Tayoga Conversations about a year ago. I’m more pleased to report that it is with the lovely and talented, Mary Garvey! Mary and I first met when she completed her Teacher Training last year at Elevate Community Yoga. We hadn’t really hung out much until we spent most of the day chatting at a friend’s birthday brunch (prior to sheltering at home, of course). It was during this time that I realized I wanted to get to know her more and a Tayoga Conversation was the perfect way to do it… especially during this crazy time! This truly is a great conversation. I feel very blessed to be able to do these conversations with amazing people. Mary truly is amazing and lovely, and I know you will enjoy this read. Sit back, relax, maybe have a beer or a glass of wine, and enjoy the conversation! Tayoga:  How did you get started with yoga and at what point did you decide to complete teacher training?

Tayoga on Youtube

BIG NEWS! Tayoga is now on Youtube! I will admit that I created the Tayoga Youtube channel a while back, but just haven't had the time to make a video. At least one good thing came out of this whole quarantine thing! I am pleased to report that the first official video is up and it features yours truly. 🧡 As with most things that you do for the first time, it was definitely a learning experience. Andrew and I put quite a few hours into this video. My goal was to have the audio be VERY clear since that seems most important when doing a home practice (especially if you want your own music to go along with it). Trying to do a flow and talk at the same time is rather difficult. When you add in that I'm in my second trimester of pregnancy, then talking and flowing together is most certainly not going to happen! With Andrew's help, we managed to put together a video that features me doing the poses and also me doing a voice over. I hope you can check it out and let me know
